Rosen
School of Hospitality Management
The Rosen School of Hospitality Management is the newest stand-alone school
at UCF. A gift by local hotelier Harris Rosen, which was the largest gift ever
pledged to the University, made it possible for UCF's Hospitality Management
department to become a separate school. The School has also received a generous
donation from the Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Darden Restaurants.
With these funding sources, which are eligible for state matching funds, UCF's
School of Hospitality Management is poised to join the nation's elite.
The new School will be built on a brand new satellite campus located in the heart of the tourist corridor on 20 acres of a new 1500 room resort and golf course being developed by Rosen Hotels and Resorts. The school is 150,000 square feet and serve 1,000 undergraduate and 100 graduate hospitality management students. Students are able to complete all of their studies on this satellite campus, including all general education requirements.
The new facility was completed but a satellite office for the Rosen School of Hospitality Management continues to be located on the main campus in the Classroom Building, Suite 302. Faculty and Staff can be reached at (407) 823-2188. The office is open from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The School's website is www.hospitality.ucf.edu
All students are assigned faculty advisors. Students can choose Hospitality Management as a major when they first enroll at UCF and are immediately accepted into the program. All first year students are encouraged to register for HFT 1000, Introduction to Hospitality Management. This class is designed to acquaint students with the exciting career opportunities in the Hospitality Industry.
Some of the other exciting aspects of
our School are:
- 800 hour Cooperative Education experience for
all students

The
Burnett Honors College
The Burnett Honors College at UCF, in affiliation with the National Collegiate
Honors Council, is designed to attract and challenge students who have demonstrated
an ability to achieve academic excellence. Honors students receive an education
that prepares them to enter the best graduate and professional schools, as well
as obtain distinguished careers in business and public service. Admission to
The Burnett Honors College is highly selective. Typically, academically talented
students are first identified and contacted by the UCF Undergraduate Admissions
Office and then by The Burnett Honors College during their high school junior
or senior year. The Burnett Honors College offers two distinct programs
of study, University Honors and Honors in the Major.
University Honors is a four-year program designed
for incoming Freshmen and qualified transfer students from a Community College
Honors program. Primarily, the focus of Honors is to combine smaller classes
with greater expectations for a student's performance. Students interested in
the University Honors program should contact Dr. Madi Dogariu, Director of Honors
Student Services, in BHC 110 at 407-823-2545.
Honors in the Major is a two-year program designed to encourage the best junior and senior students to undertake original and independent research in their major field under the supervision of a faculty committee. This research culminates in a thesis or creative project. Students interested in the Honors in the Major program should contact Ms. Heather Stevens, Program Assistant for Honors in the Major, in BHC 102 at 407-823- 0325.

programs, students, and partnerships with the community. The slogan of
this office is “This way to the future”. This matches the office because
the degree programs offered continually try to improve to meet the changing
demands of the work environment.
The University provides quality learning environments for graduate students
and welcomes non-traditional students. To ensure convenience of class
times most classes are offered at night, on the web, or on the weekends.
Class sizes are kept small to ensure more interactions with faculty.
The Office of Graduate Studies is a welcoming
program for students wishing to further their education and employment opportunities.
